Meet Emma

Emma is Mummy to two little monkeys and an experienced primary school teacher specialising in Early Years and physical education. In fact, she has been teaching since the age of 5 when her little sister arrived in the world! She is a self-confessed geek when it comes to early childhood development, listening to podcasts and reading books in her free time.

Emma says she hated maths at school, but when she began to teach she knew she needed to make maths fun and practical for the children. And now, with two children of her own, she wants to help spread the word that early maths can be joyful and playful through Jump Start Maths!

Emma says, “I have seen firsthand how crucial early maths skills are for children’s future success, so want to help as many children as possible develop a love of maths from a young age. I also understand how important physical development is. I am regularly shocked by the stats on active time and physical development in our young people.”

Meet Chloe

Children have always been at the heart of Chloe’s career. She loves helping them learn, grow, and develop confidence. As both a teacher and a mum, she understands not only how crucial early maths skills are but also how important movement is for young children’s long-term development.

She also knows the worries parents have about getting their little ones school-ready—wanting to do the right thing but not always knowing where to start. That’s why she co-founded Jump Start Maths—to give children a strong foundation in math through movement, play, and exploration while supporting parents along the way.

Chloe says, “I love working with children and seeing that spark when they understand something new. Maths doesn’t have to be worksheets and worries—when we make it active and playful, children learn without even realising it! And when parents feel confident too, it makes all the difference.”

Now, through Jump Start Maths, Emma and Chloe are excited to help more families build a love of maths and movement—boosting not just number sense, but confidence, coordination, and physical development too!
